my nail art stamp still hasn’t arrived. don’t you love waiting for post?
so, i thought i would give the gradient manicure another shot this week, and brave some block colours. trickier than the metallic style i did a few weeks back, as the gradient shows up a lot more clearly.
today i chose to go with grey (no reason at all, there isn’t a certain book on my mind, no idea what you’re referring to, etc). starting with a light grey graduating down to almost black, i’m loving this dark and brooding look.
using the same instructions we used last time from here, paint on the lighter polish – two coats and allow to dry completely.
next, paint a generous amount of the first polish and a second, darker shade next to each other onto a non-absorbent surface and mix the edges with a toothpick to create the gradient.
using the flat side of a sponge, dab it lightly in the polish.
dab onto the nail and wiggle a little to smudge the gradient. allow each nail to dry before dabbing on more if you need to improve the look. once you’re done, clean up the edges with nail polish remover and finish with a clear top coat.
et voila! your very own fifty shades of grey. enjoy, ladies.
