burger & lobster’s new soho digs

enjoying incredible and tasty lobster doesn’t have to leave a huge dent in your bank account.

there’s a rather magical place where you can enjoy a whole lobster for £20. no i’m not lying  - it’s true, just head to burger & lobster.

those in the know have been queuing up at the original mayfair eatery just off green park since early 2012. and now the restaurant, one of our favourites, has popped up in soho. we headed to the new venue on dean street with rumbling tummies.

bib at burger and lobsterlobster burger and lobsterlobster meat, burger and lobsterwe are lobster-philes here at pb (remember this?) and why anyone would order a burger when you can have a whole lobster is beyond me, particularly when they are both the same price.

you can guess what everyone in our party ordered and as our plates arrived silence fell. it takes a lot to stop the coversation but a plateful of shiny lobster managed to do just that.

the focus was firmly on the food and with our bibs secured tightly around our necks we began our feast.

the lobster meat was delicious and you are given all the implements to really get the most out of the sizeable crustacean. to make the eating even easier the lobster is already cut in half and the claws have been cracked so it’s pretty much done for you.

a table of clear plates is a sure sign everyone enjoyed their meal and despite feeling fairly stuffed we couldn’t pass up on a few deserts.

if you do have room i recommend the chocolate ice-cream with peanuts, sea salt and caramel. so naughty but oh so nice.

with the sun shining we sipped wine at a table outside soaking up the atmosphere on dean street and were rather happy.

chocolate and peanut pudding, burger and lobsterwe didn’t mind waiting, but a table didn’t free up for an hour and a half. you have been warned. that being said next time i find myself craving lobster i know exactly where i will be heading.

the new soho burger & lobster is located at 36 dean street, while original mayfair venue is located at 29 clarges street, and a farringdon branch is expected to open later this year.

  1. Looks amazing! What was the lobster seasoned with? I made lobster noodles recently, and it was amazing – not because I made it, but purely because lobster is simply brilliant!! Lovely to meet you!

  2. I absolutely love the sweet/salty pairing…sadly as I’m currently in Los Angeles, the closest I will probably get is melting down a Reese’s peanut butter cup over pretzel sticks. Next time I’m in London I’m checking it out!
