with all the excitement over the change in season, i’ve been embracing the dark and moody autumnal shades from my nail varnish collection with gusto, the pastel shades of the summer starting to gather cobwebs at the back of the nail polish shelf.
i was sent a few of the andrea fulerton nail art kits recently, and given the celebrity nail technician has such a lovely first name, i was more than willing to give them a whirl. the stripe & sparkle is a silver varnish with super thin nail brush perfect for creating thin lines, dots and flicks, with a pot of glitter on the flip side for extra sparkle.
i teamed the stripe & sparkle with a new favourite, mavala’s vitality – a precious pastel shade that looks purple in the bottle but paints on to the most perfect ballet slipper pink.
i painted on two coats of pink and allowed to dry. next, i painted on a skinny line of silver at the base of each nail bed, hugging the cuticle. on the fourth finger of each hand i add a few extra stripes as an accent nail.
you’ll want a steady hand to create thin, straight stripes. i found resting my wrist on the table stopped the shakes.
