having both spent time in venice, ca, andrea and i are in love with gjelina restaurant on abbot kinney. the food is beyond devine, the ambiance is relaxed yet sophisticated and i have found the service to be impeccable.

over the weekend i enjoyed lunch with friends and the daytime experience is much different to a meal in the evening.

the place has a rustic feel with a modern twist – deconstructed décor with polished edges and the menu will have you salivating into your napkin – the food really is incredible.

i suggest studying what’s on offer with a cool glass of sancerre in hand and sharing dishes among friends.

we opted for a pizza and a sandwich washed down with ‘the visionary cocktail’ and for dessert I cannot recommend the butterscotch pot de creme more highly. pure bliss in a bowl!
