Apple Tea Cake Crumble for One
This Apple Tea Cake Crumble is a delicious addition to the end of any meal. It is soft with just the right amount of sweetness and ends with a satisfying crunch.
Apples make a delightful addition to any recipe. Using red delicious apples or granny smith or a combo of all kinds really changes the flavor and texture of the recipe. Baked apple recipes are a great use of oddly shaped and bruised apples. After all once they are baked with sugar and spices you would never know what they looked like at the beginning.
I especially like using apples picked from trees in a personal backyard. These tend to be small and somewhat hard, the skins are no good to each which is good for recipes since you tend to skin them anyways. Baking them brings out the flavor and makes them soft. You can add varying amounts of sugar to adjust the sweetness levels depending on how sweet your apples were to begin with. Try a small bite of an apple as you cut it up to know just what the sweetness level is that you are dealing with.
