Cookie Dough Dip
This Cookie Dough Dip is a fantastic change from eating raw cookie dough. It’s creamy, smooth, and filled with chocolate chips.
I have so many fond memories of staying up late at sleepovers watching movies and chatting. No sleepover is complete without snacks and baked goods. My friends and I would bake cookies and when our parents had gone to bed eat some of the cookie dough raw (with no eggs of course!).
Although raw cookie dough is a delectable sleepover tradition on it’s own, I would like to introduce to you a variation on this recipe, that is fit for a sleepover, party, or get together of any kind.
This recipe is fast and easy to make. You can make it in a pinch right before a party or to satisfy a late night craving. It doesn’t require any baking or use any eggs. You can eat it right away or store it in the fridge for a few days.
I suggest you try it with potato chips (yes potato chips!). Make sure they are plain and not flavored. This Cookie Dough Dip also goes great on plain sugar cookies or shortbread. If you don’t have anything on hand you can just use your fingers or a spoon.
1/2 cup salted butter 2 tablespoons heavy cream 1/4 cup of plain whey protein 3 tablespoons of powdered icing sugar 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder 1/4 cup of light brown sugar (packed) 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate shavings (or milk chocolate chips)
Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Dip Make this delicious dip into a peanut butter special by adding 1/4 cup of your favorite brand of peanut butter to the dip. Add a handful of crushed peanuts for a great crunch topping.
Smores Dip Add a bit more cocoa powder and chocolate to the mix and throw in some marshmallows. You can even use soft marshmallow spread and mix it right into the dip for a great smores flavor that everyone knows and loves. Crack some graham crackers over the top and pretend like you are sitting around the campfire enjoying some freshly baked smores.
Leave the butter out on the counter top for half an hour to soften. If you are in a rush you can put the butter in a bowl and heat it in the microwave for a couple of seconds, but be careful not to melt it.
Mash the softened butter in a bowl with the heavy cream. If you prefer you can use a handheld mixer for this step and whip it until smooth.
Add the powdered icing sugar and light brown sugar. Mix until fully integrated.
Add the plain whey protein and mix until there is no dry powder visible. Mix in the cocoa powder until the dip is dark brown in color.
You can mix in the chocolate shavings or chips at this step or wait until serving to scatter on top of the dip.
Enjoy the Cookie Dough Dip with potato crisps or plain sugar cookies.
Dip will keep airtight in the fridge for 5 to 7 days. You can also freeze it for up to 6 months.
